{"id":30,"date":"2025-06-13T01:01:34","date_gmt":"2025-06-13T01:01:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/james.hyperactiveit.biz\/?p=30"},"modified":"2025-06-13T01:32:57","modified_gmt":"2025-06-13T01:32:57","slug":"spaghetti-bolognese","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/james.hyperactiveit.biz\/index.php\/2025\/06\/13\/spaghetti-bolognese\/","title":{"rendered":"Spaghetti Bolognese!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\uded2 Ingredients:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For the Bolognese sauce:<\/strong><\/p><div class=\"james-content\" id=\"james-2401300806\"><a href=\"https:\/\/james.hyperactiveit.biz\/index.php\/2025\/06\/13\/garlic-butter-noodles-10-minute-comfort-food\/\" aria-label=\"dummy\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/james.hyperactiveit.biz\/wp-content\/plugins\/advanced-ads\/public\/assets\/img\/dummy.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\"  \/><\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2 tbsp olive oil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 onion, finely chopped<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 garlic cloves, minced<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 carrot, finely diced<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 celery stalk, finely diced (optional)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>500g ground beef (or half pork, half beef for traditional version)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 tbsp tomato paste<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>400g can chopped tomatoes (or passata)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 tsp dried oregano or Italian herbs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Salt and pepper, to taste<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 tsp sugar (to balance acidity)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Optional: splash of red wine (about 100ml) or a bit of beef stock<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Optional: bay leaf or a small piece of parmesan rind for extra flavor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For the pasta:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>350\u2013400g dried spaghetti<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Salt, for pasta water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To serve:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Grated parmesan cheese<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fresh basil or parsley (optional)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udc68\u200d\ud83c\udf73 Instructions:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Cook the base<\/strong>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Cook for 5\u20137 minutes until softened.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Brown the meat<\/strong>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Add ground beef. Break it up with a spoon and cook until browned all over (no pink remains).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Build the sauce<\/strong>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Stir in tomato paste and cook for 1 minute.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add chopped tomatoes, oregano, sugar, salt, pepper, and wine or stock if using.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and cook uncovered for <strong>20\u201330 minutes<\/strong> (longer is better). Stir occasionally.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cook the spaghetti<\/strong>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Boil a large pot of salted water.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cook spaghetti according to package instructions (usually 8\u201310 minutes).
